Sourcing replacement cartridges and parts for luxury plumbing fixtures

About

Twenty-five years of Toronto plumbing, run one van at a time.

A family business that has stayed small deliberately — because the thing customers value, knowing who is turning up and that they know the building, is the first thing a company loses when it grows.

How it works

The person who quotes it is the person who does it.

Most of what LR Plumbing does is premium residential and condo work: fixture installation and repair, shower valves, toilets and bidets, drains, leaks, sump pumps, water treatment, and the rough-in and trim-out on renovations and new builds. We also take on selected commercial jobs where a small shop is the right fit.

A good part of the fixture knowledge came from years spent servicing product sold through Toronto’s high-end showrooms — Gingers and ELTE among them. That work means we have opened up most of the premium valves on the market at some point, and know which ones are still serviceable when a shop tells you the fixture is obsolete.

We work weekdays, 9 to 5, and weekends by appointment. We are not a 24-hour emergency service and we do not pretend to be. If you call at eleven at night we will not answer; if you call at nine in the morning you will get a straight answer about when we can be there.

How we work

Three things we will not compromise on.

The rough-in gets done properly
Valve depth, fixture heights and stub-out positions are set against the finished surface and the tile layout, not the framing. It is the half of the job nobody sees, and it decides how the visible half turns out.
We repair before we replace
A worn cartridge is a part, not a new fixture. If a valve is genuinely finished we will say so — but on good fittings that is rarer than most people are told.
We leave it clean
Drop sheets down, shoes off where it matters, and the cabinet or the wall cavity left in a state where the next person can see what is going on.
