What the work may involve

• Replacing failed pumps and worn float switches
• Fitting a backup pump so the pit is covered if the primary fails
• Discharge piping with a check valve so water cannot run back into the pit
• Backwater valve installation to stop sewer backup entering the house
• Checking that discharge is taken far enough from the foundation
